Description

This nebula was the biggest pain to process. I knew that it's really faint and that the processing is going to be difficult but boy, it was even harder than I'd thought. This nebula is almost invisible in one single 10 minute exposure in Ha, completely invisible in O3. After nearly 30 hours and stacking you find out that it is absolutely sunken in the stars and you basically see just some shapeless blob in the background. To overcome this I had to come up with absolutely new approach on how I process and reduce stars. It's still not perfect but my regular workflow just didn't do the job I wanted it to do. It would also be helpful to finish shooting the oxygen channel but unfortunately I already spent so much time on this and weather doesn't look too good in the near future. Plus the necessity to shoot this object during new moon due to its brightness adds just too many variables and instead of waiting I've decided to finish it and move on to some other objects. I hope you like it anyway.
